Frequently Asked Questions

  • Shave on and around the area that is going to be tattooed.  This one is huge, if you have two or more areas in mind, shave those too!  It won't hurt to shave a few places, it'll all grow back.  It makes things a lot easier for everybody and is greatly appreciated by the artist.
  • Don't drink alcohol the day of or the day before your tattoo appointment.  Not only will you bleed more during the tattoo, but you'll end up with patchy, healed ink as well.
  • Get plenty of rest and food/water beforehand.  Clear as much time needed to get your tattoo done, the last thing you want is to rush your artist.

  • It typically takes a tattoo 2 weeks to a month to fully heal.  It depends on the type of work done; if it's simple, small lettering, then it would be pretty close to fully healed within 2 weeks.
  • If it's a more involved piece, with heavy shading or heavy color, it should be fully healed in roughly a month's time.
  • Give your tattoo lots of TLC and follow our aftercare instructions and you should be golden!

  • This all depends on where you're getting tattooed.  Make sure to wear something that you'll be alright with possibly getting a little ink on it, also wear something that allows easy access to the area to be tattooed.
  • IN ADDITION:  You're always welcome to bring a pillow and blanket (no joke), it's typically cold in our shop, and you may have skin exposed for hours at a time.

  • If you're new to getting tattooed, you may have noticed that everybody wants to tell you how you "should" care for your tattoo.  It tends to vary from person to person, as we're all different.  However, some basic guidelines will help heal a great tattoo nearly every time.
  • Check out our Tattoo Aftercare section for more information.

This is a question that I'm asked more often than I'd like to admit.  It's an odd one, because a sleeve could consist of so many different subjects/styles/inks, that there's no way to give an answer to this question without some deep planning and discussion.  So I can't.

  • Typically a sleeve is either built, piece by piece over time, until it's completely filled the arm.

OR

  • The entire sleeve is designed in it's entirety from day one.  Either way, it's purely subjective and the cost will vary from sleeve to sleeve.

  • We have a base charge of $60 which covers setup. We typically won't charge for smaller designs, but if we're talking in terms of a sleeve or full-back sized design, there will more than likely be a charge for the design. All of this will be discussed and clear before we begin anything.

  • Yes. Color adds an extra step to the tattooing process, and generally costs more due to ink variety.

  • Depends entirely on the size of the piece, the style (realism, traditional, new school, etc.), location of the tattoo, color or black and gray and level of detail.
